Crossing Bridges Festival

The Crossing Bridges festival at Children’s Theater Company is on May 21st. Mr. Butler has one class participating. It starts at 6 and is free. Wellstone will be the second school performing, and we will finish our performance around 6:30-6:45. Please come support our Wellstone actors!

World Savvy
Wellstone Students Shine at World Savvy Festival

El Quetzal's team members are Eliazar H, Alfredo L, and Josue V.  They won the 2nd place award in the category of Social Justice at last week's World Savvy Festival at Hamline University.   Their problem-based project addressed the issue of "Police Harassment". Congratulations!

Wellstone at the Walker

Wellstone Walker Day is on Wednesday, May 15th! Our students will be collaborating with FAIR to create an student art exhibit at the Walker on the Wednesday 15th and we will have an opening reception from 3-5pm on Wednesday. Also, the show will also be open on Free Target Thursday night on May 16th. https://walkerart.org/target-free-thursday-night

State History Day

Thirteen students participated in the State History Competition at the U of M on Saturday.  This is a considerable accomplishment.  Only about 5% of History Day students advance to the state competition.  They all presented well and made us proud! - Ms. Dallman   Click on the headline to see all the details.

Mission

Wellstone International High School (WIHS) provides an equitable education for English Learners (ELs) by meeting academic and social-emotional needs. WIHS builds on the assets and experiences of ELs’ multilingualism and multiculturalism. Students are expected to critically analyze and respond to local and global issues while enhancing awareness of self and others. Academic standards, research-based support systems and experiential learning come together to produce a rich academic setting. Advanced coursework includes college courses and opportunities for students to prepare for post-secondary options.  WIHS utilizes and promotes collaboration and community engagement through enhanced community partnerships.
