History Day
Gallery Walk

On Friday, March 22nd, students participating in History Day will hold a Gallery Walk in the Media Center. Periods 3 and 4 projects will be available for viewing however studetns will not be there to present. Periods 5, 6, 7 and 8 some students will be available to present and answer questions about their projects. Hope to see you for the Gallery Walk!

Two Wellstone students have been selected to be Pages at the Minnesota State Capitol. Osvin and Marlene spent the week of March 11th - 15th working as Pages, helping legislators in various capacities. They were able to get an inside view of how the legislative process works.

WIDA Week

Wellstone held WIDA Week from February 25 - March 1. Students took one domain a day. Listening will be on Tuesday, Reading on Wednesday and Writing on Thursday. Speaking was the following two weeks. There was cake to celebrate student effort during WIDA Week Friday after school.

Wellstone held teacher conferences on Thursday, February 14th from 4 until 8 pm and again on Friday, February 15th from 10 am until 2 pm. Thanks to all who came to conferences!

Mission

Wellstone International High School (WIHS) provides an equitable education for English Learners (ELs) by meeting academic and social-emotional needs. WIHS builds on the assets and experiences of ELs’ multilingualism and multiculturalism. Students are expected to critically analyze and respond to local and global issues while enhancing awareness of self and others. Academic standards, research-based support systems and experiential learning come together to produce a rich academic setting. Advanced coursework includes college courses and opportunities for students to prepare for post-secondary options.  WIHS utilizes and promotes collaboration and community engagement through enhanced community partnerships.
