Robotics Competition

Five robotics students went to Eagan with Mr. Molin for a robotic competition on Saturday, February 17th and did great! The robot moved, it knocked down some blocks, they got a lifting motor to move, and students practiced their English for 6 hours with other high school students, engineers, and teachers! What a Saturday!

East African Family Night

Parents, please come to Wellstone on Friday, February 23rd from 3:30 - 5:30 to learn more about college and careers and how you can support your children. Come also to celebrate our East Aftrican students. Somali at the auditorium and Oromo at the Art Room, AB103. Please see the poster attached for more information. Dinner will be served. Latino Family Night

American Swedish Institute Field Trip

On Wednesday and Thursday, February 14th and 15th, students from the Junior Institute spent time at the American Swedish Institute. They toured the castle, tasted Swedish food and met their partner elders for the Story Swap.

Wellstone International High School (WIHS) provides an equitable education for English Learners (ELs) by meeting academic and social-emotional needs. Wellstone is a Celebration-Eligible School!

The purpose of the Celebration School recognition is to identify Minnesota Title I schools that have demonstrated both excellence on the MMR which measures school performance in the areas of student proficiency, student growth, closure of the achievement gap, and graduation rates as well as success with initiatives that have led to positive student outcomes.

This year Wellstone International High School has been designated a focus school under the federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA). The designation is based on student performance data that placed our school among the ten percent of schools making the largest contribution to the state’s achievement gap.
